BBC Connect

BBDO New York's very innovative campaign for BBC; "Connect with the World" using scenes from current news stories with actual cables. Who would generally look up and notice this advertising on buildings though?

I don't know if I agree with this. I think the ads are dramatic and eye-catching. They do make a statement and are out of the ordinary. For that reason I do think they will be an integral part of an effective marketing campaign.

i think this a very creative yet less costly form of advertisement, although people may not pay attention to it mistaking it for graffiti.
the use of current news articles reminds me of the Amul Butter in India advertsing campaign whereby in the past decade or so their billboards have covered everything from the monica lewinsky scandal, to test tube babies, and more recently obama's victory while subtley promoting butter. if you are studying advertising i think u may want to look into Amul's campaign
